Coverage in Most Print Media Includes Digital Versions Too

Press Releases are an important supplementary tool in your marketing campaign for any product, service or expert personality. It creates a high credibility factor and can result in coverage in print media, online articles or mentions and in person or remote interviews.

What do you want to communicate in your press release?
1. A title and introductory sentence that contains important keywords and a strong introduction to what is coming.
2. What is new and different about this? What is happening and when will it happen?
3. How does it work or what do we know?
4. Several sound-bite sized taglines for easy categorization or pitch ideas.
5. Location oriented information – is this local, regional or everywhere?
6. A condensed section on process, technical details, credentials or program. What makes this product stand out, why is this service important, what does this expert know?
7. Social proof giving statistics or percentages showing why this is popular or why a large percentage of people need it or may like it.
8. Description of the experience – taste, touch, smell, sound, emotions, motivation – using highly descriptive words and phrases.
9. Recap of how to use it, what to do – one or two sentences.
10. Definition, credentials or external validation – especially important if the product is unfamiliar so it can be categorized easily.
11. To learn more – link to info, link to purchase, link to contact person.
12. Hyperlinks in press releases go to the main company website, not to a specific product page.

Deciding where to run your press release depends on your targets and budget. Well written press releases that are tagged and promoted through Social Media channels like Twitter can even get picked up from free press release sites.

This is one of our services at Supercharged Promos and we recommend that you plan and budget to run a series of 5 to 10 press releases for best results.

Here’s a recent press release we ran that got top of page one ranking on Google News for most of a week – first in a series of 5 or 6 for this product group, we anticipate it will boost rankings in the difficult keyword of “organic coffee” – NutriCafe Press Release

Extra hint! Be sure to post your press releases in the “Press” section of your website! This makes it easy for people searching you out in the media to find sound bites, taglines, facts, figures and links.
